Canadian, Eh?
Ever wonder how come Canadian parent/teacher sites seem non-existent?
I want to share some excellent Canadian Early Childhood sites found while researching Co-operative Childcare in Canada.
- Invest in Kids www.investinkids.ca aims to strengthen the parenting knowledge, skills and confidence of all those who touch the lives of children from birth to age five. Good info for parents, professionals.
- Canadian Institute of Child Health www.cich.ca is dedicated to promotoing and protecting the health, well-being and rights of all children and youth through monitoring, education and advocacy. They have some FREEBIE downloads on the ONLINE DOCUMENTS sidebar that may be of interest to parents/teachers: www.cich.ca/Publications.html
- Todays Parent: www.todaysparent.com has some really relevant and good links; I like the easy, friendly layout and variety.
For Early Childhood Educators, I have been impressed with:
- The Childcare Resource and Research Unit (CRRU) which focuses on research and policy resources in the context of a high quality system of early childhood education and child www.childcarecanada.org
- The Centre of Excellence for Early Childhood Development (CEECD)whose mission is to improve our knowledge of the social and emotional development of young children. http://www.excellence-jeunesenfants.ca The bulletin, links, Early Childhood A-Z sections are worth a look....
AND
- Council for Early Childhood Development - the Dr. Frasier Mustard site! www.councilecd.ca
Please send me your feedback about sending you info in such a manner. We want to know what is helpful, useful or NOT!
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SHARE?!
Co-operatively,
